City of Rocks National Reserve (3/10)

    City of Rocks National Reserve: This is a unique geological formation of granite spires and pillars. The area was formed by volcanic activity and erosion, and the result is a landscape of massive granite formations that rise out of the surrounding desert. The reserve is a popular spot for rock climbing, hiking, and camping. There are also several historic sites in the area, including the California Trail and the Oregon Trail, which passed through the reserve.
