Loiliang – A Heritage Village from Arunachal Pradesh

Loiliang village under Tezu sadar circle in Lohit district has been selected as a model village under the Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Yojana (CMAGY).

Loiliang is one of the oldest villages in the district and has retained its cultural and traditional ethos. It has also been selected as one of the two model cultural villages in Arunachal Pradesh.

The tribes of this village are especially the Miju Mishmis and Digaru Mishmis.

Whenever I visit Tezu I never ever miss a chance to visit Loilang.
This village is full off peace and is surrounded by Mishmi Hills (a part of North East Himalayan Range).

If an explorer want to explore every nook and corner of this place then he or she must visit this beautiful village.

Vegetables which are produced in the village, generally sold in the weekly market of Tezu mainly on every Wednesday and Sunday by the local people of Loilang.

The main attraction of Loilang is its weekly local market of Thursday. You can enjoy not only the green vegetables but the local food items also. You can buy all kinds of household goods, dresses, shoes and many more things for daily use.

If you want a little bit of entertainment in between marketing then there is “JHANDI MUNDA” game for you.

“Jhandi Munda” is traditional betting gambling board game played in India. In this game, we have symbols “Hear”, “Spade”, “Diamond”, “Club”, “Face” and “Flag” printed on the six faces of each dice. Since it is a betting game, a person will host the game and the rest others can place their bets on any of the six symbols. The player will place a bet and the host will roll the dices.

After marketing, you can relish the beauty of the surroundings.
