1. The Karakoram Highway

The KKH is the highest paved road in the world extended over 1,300 kilometers between Pakistan and China and topping out at 4,693 meters above sea level. You will love to see massive 7,000+ meter peaks, beautiful blue lakes, and meet some of the most hospitable people on our planet while surfing this road. KKH is one of the only routes that cross through the Himalayas. If you require an extra dose of adrenalin, you will enjoy this road trip. It is considered one of the famous tourist attractions and a marvel of engineering as well. For adventurous souls who wish to road trip, it offers some stunning scenic views that they’ll enjoy. Quite paradoxically, this road is not too challenging to drive because it is paved from beginning to end and it’s plenty of straightaway with turns that are not too tight. While exploring this road trip, you will enjoy spotting the colorful Pakistani trucks along the road. KKH runs north-south across the Karakoram mountain range and through the Khunjerab Pass. You will traverse through the territories of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan. Passing over the border into China’s Xinjiang province, you’ll eventually reach Kashgar, the final point of this route. Here are some popular destinations to stop on your KKH road trip.

Hunza Valley

Hunza Valley is nothing short of breathtaking views, a queen of natural beauty, with spectacular views of the snowcapped peaks that guard the region. Pullover in Karimabad, a couple of hour drive from Gilgit, which overlooks the entire valley and is known for its exceptionally warm and welcoming locals. You will get to visit Baltit Fort and Altit Fort over there while enjoying the beautiful culture of the Kailashi people.

Attabad Lake

Your next stop on this marvelous road should be Attabad Lake, where the only way to cross is by boat (your car will, of course, be brought along for the 40-minute detour).

Baba Ghundi Ziarat

After traversing through the gorgeous Cathedral Ridge in Passu, you’ll want to stop next at the Baba Ghundi Ziarat. This popular Sufi shrine rises from the meadows in striking white contrast and is rumored to have mystical powers. Many tourists visit there as a pilgrimage, especially in late summer.

Khunjerab National Park

Next, you will drive through the Khunjerab National Park (where you will have to pay an entrance fee). Look out for rare Himalayan ibex and elusive snow leopards. Soon, you’ll reach the highest point of the highway on the Khunjerab Pass, a border between China and Pakistan. Then, you will enter China and your trip will finally come to an end at Kashgar.

The Philippines, a country full of friendly locals, is probably one of the most exciting destinations in the Asian continent. English is very popular and widely spoken in this country. Philipines became a tourist demand because of its pristine white-sand beaches and luscious vegetation. Luzon is considered to be the largest island of the Philippines archipelago. The capital city of Manila is a great start for your road trip as you head on NE to Pagudpud via the Patapat Viaduct. You will get to see scenic mountain roads with breathtaking views on your journey on the Patapat Viaduct. You will see mountains covered with tropical vegetation and the amazing view of Pasaleng Bay.

3. Biking The Ho Chi Minh Highway

The Ho Chi Minh highway goes from the south of Vietnam, starting in the capital of Ho Chi Minh City, and meanders up to Hanoi. Although roads are dusty and dirty, yet there are some incredible backdrops on this route. Vietnam is no walk in the park, although once you’re out of the city you should be able to enjoy the trip comfortably. Surfing through this route on a motorcycle, keeping all your luggage secure in a motorcycle tail bag or a trunk bag, will give you an unforgettable memory. While traveling on this road trip, you can find the best scenery along the central section, where a landscape of endless limestone mountains, covered in a thick fleece of tropical rainforest and dissected by clear blue rivers, stretches to the horizon: if you only ride one part of the Ho Chi Minh Road, make sure it’s this one

4. Bali Loop, Indonesia

It’s easy to spend all your time on a beach in Bali, but the island is so small that, so, it’s better to fill your time with a trip around the intriguing and mysterious coast. The Lombok and Badung Strait lend are well suited for day trips, having many hidden beaches but if you go further inland and take the road less traveled, you’ll be able to find coffee houses and pagodas of the beaten track making it one of the most scenic routes for a road trip in Asia.
