Though IMD predicts that there will be no rain in next 5 days in Kerala but the damage is now beyond control. More than 300 people died and many affected during Kerala’s devastating flood. Lakhs of people have been relocated to relief camps.
After 1924 if is the second time Kerala is in big trouble for this deadly flood. We have seen many roads, houses washed out during the flood. People are helpless, no food, no water is available there. The whole state is now in the red alert zone. This Kerala flood destroyed roughly 906,400 hectares worth of crops. The cost to the state and its people stands at a staggering Rs 19,512 crore.
Many states have already started sending relief help. Indian army is now in action for rescuing the people who are trapped in the water. They are using boats, helicopters for the rescue mission. Central Govt already announced 500 crores help but this is not enough, the state needs more to get back on its feet again.
