How you can make your Sony mirror-less camera footage more cinematic. Those who are using Sony cameras like Sony alpha series a6400 and a7 series, they should know there is a picture profile called HLG and in the latest camera model of Sony they have introduced HLG3 color profile. Previously I have used CINE profile but for some recent projects I start using HLG3 profile and the color came out really nice in post processing. Why it is different than other color profile like sLOG or CINE?
Well in this HLG3 color profile you have more dynamic range, better control in highlights, saturation, detailing and the main plus point is in ISO. In this profile the minimum ISO is 125 whereas in other profile its more than 400 so compare to other color profiles you will get very very negligible noise in your footage. So this is the big advantage. Now before shooting you can adjust some settings in HLG3 profile from your camera. These minimum adjustments can give you super result in your raw output and also after post processing.
