Crazy Chicken Bus Journey Through Guatemala
The cheapest and by far most interesting way of getting around in Guatemala is to take a chicken bus, an old American school bus that was exported, spruced up with some fresh paint / chrome and then used for public transportation in Guatemala.
Chicken buses are THE local transportation option. It’s loud, it’s very crowded and it’s complete chaos and it’s our favourite way of getting around in Guatemala. We had some crazy experiences during this journey. Guatemala was one of our favourite countries in Central America.
