Bikers Will Not be Allowed in Sandakphu from Now Onwards: Notice by Divisional Forest Officer

The latest news is coming that no motor bikes will be allowed to go to Sandakphu. Many bikers are returning back from the Sandakphu checkpost which is 31 km before Sandakphu and 3 km before Chitrey.

Sandakphu by Bike is not allowed from Now (April 2018)

The notice was declared by Divisional Forest Officer recently

This notice is affected from April 2018.

It is applicable for any season.

Why Are Bikers not allowed in Sandakphu?

Few days ago a group of bikers destroyed trees, Rhododendron plants during their trip, also polluted many areas in Sandakphu. They left their used plastics, food wrappers there which literally made the Singalila National Park / forest a gardbage dustbin. Local people found broken liqueur, alcohol bottles on the road. That group also played music loudly in the forest and for that reason many animals including red pandas escaped to the Nepal side. The local people complained regarding this to DFO while the DFO was visiting the place for investigation and afterward he declared this notice recently.

Do they allow Cars and Cycles for Sandakphu Trip?

Don’t worry, cars, cyclist and trekkers are still allowed to go for Sandakphu trip.

Recent Update (11th April, 5:46 PM): I have contacted one of my local sherpa friend Gopal from Dhotrey. He told me that motor bikes are totally banned now. He also told me that there is another issue like recently Sandakphu top was getting over crowded by Cars, motor bikes and as the road construction is going on it is getting difficult to complete the work. Therefore the decision has been taken.

We are contacting other concerned persons in Sandakphu for latest development, till then stay connected with us by subscribing our blog and like our page: https://www.facebook.com/TopFiveBuzz
