There is hot chamber under the earth surface. Hot red lava is living under our feet. Earth has millions of volcanoes of many ages; few are dead and few still alive. Many volcanoes are still roaring sometimes.

Here is the list of five most dangerous volcanoes of the world

1. Mount Vesuvius

Vesuvius is located on west coast of Italy. Elevation of this volcano is 1281 meter. This is the most active volcano in Europe. It is a strato-volcano. Vesuvius exhibits rough stratification produced by alternating sheets of lava and pyroclastic materials .It is a most dangerous volcano because million of people live near to the crater. These volcanos are formed due to the convergence of two continental plates, like African and Eurasian plate and it is created over the subduction zone of those converging plates.

2. Stromboli

Stromboli, this is an Aeolian Island which is located between Sicily and Italy.  It is also called “Lighthouse of the Mediterranean”. Stromboli is 926m in height. The Strombolian type of eruption emits basaltic lava which is less fluid than that of the Hawaiian type. Consequently more fragmental material like pumice, scoria bombs are ejected up to a greater height. Its last eruption was held on 18th April, 2013.

3. Santa Maria

Santa Maria, a most prominent Strato volcano which is located 60 km from the Pacific coast of Guatemala, 100 km west of Guatemala City. It is 3772 m. in height. Its first eruption was held on 1902. In that time on its southwestern side a 1.5km crater has been created for massive plinian eruption. Scientists believe it has been erupting for over 30,000 years. This is formed due to the subduction of the Cocos plate under the Caribbean plate. In that zone line of strato volcanoes ware formed and  stretches along much of the Pacific coast of Central America.

4. Mount Etna

Mount Etna, 109 years old volcano, located on the island of Sicily of Italy. It is the highest active volcano in Europe. The height of the mountain is currently around 3,340 meters. It has three craters. Etna is a composite volcano and also very explosive. The most violent eruption in the history of Mount Etna occurred in March of 1669. This is formed due to collision of two plates like African plate and Eurasian Plate.

5. Mount Yasur

Mount Yasur is 111 years old volcano in Vanautu and this is an active volcano on Tanna Island. This is in 361 meters above sea level. This volcano is a strato volcano, caused by the eastward-moving Indo-Australian Plate being subducted under the westward-moving Pacific Plate.
